These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Law Agora (the “Service”), operated by Law Agora at lawagora.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Account registration
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
Roles and responsibilities
- Clients: may search lawyers, post questions (anonymously or with name), save lawyers to a shortlist, message lawyers, and post reviews after verified contact.
- Lawyers: see our Lawyer Terms for additional obligations.
- Law firms: see our Firm Terms.
- All users must follow the Code of Conduct.
No attorney-client relationship through the Service
Information published on the Service (including Q&A answers, articles, and lawyer profiles) is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Use of the Service does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and any lawyer until and unless you separately engage that lawyer in writing.
Reviews and Q&A content
You may post reviews of lawyers only after you have had a verified engagement with them, as determined by our system (typically: a contact-form inquiry sent at least 7 days before review submission, with the lawyer responding). Reviews must be truthful and based on your own experience.
Q&A questions and answers you post are public unless you select an anonymous posting option for questions. Lawyers’ answers are public regardless.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Post false reviews, defamation, harassment, hate speech, or illegal content.
- Attempt to access, scrape, or harvest data from the Service except via documented APIs.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages to other users.
- Circumvent verification, paywalls, or anti-fraud measures.
- Upload malware or interfere with the Service’s operation.
Content ownership
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service.
Subscriptions and fees (lawyers and firms)
Lawyers and firms may subscribe to paid tiers. Subscriptions are billed in advance per the price displayed at signup. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial periods unless required by law.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms or the Code of Conduct, with notice where reasonably possible.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that user-submitted information is accurate. Lawyer credentials are verified at signup but verification reflects the state of bar records at that time only.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Law Agora shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Law Agora is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless otherwise required by law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
