What happens at an administrative hearing?
My benefits were cut off and I have a hearing scheduled in front of an administrative law judge. I have never been to anything like this. Is it like a trial?

Administrative hearings are usually less formal than court trials, but they follow rules. Typically a hearing officer or administrative judge listens to both sides, reviews documents, and may hear witnesses. Rules of evidence are often relaxed.
Prepare by organising your documents, writing down the key facts in date order, and identifying anyone who can confirm your account. You can usually bring a lawyer or, in some systems, a non-lawyer representative.
Ask in advance whether the hearing is in person, by phone or by video.
