Tourist visa overstay — what are my options before I leave?
I overstayed my B-2 by 32 days due to a medical emergency. I have hospital records. Will I be banned from re-entry?

Adding to the prior answer — make sure to do nothing that could be characterized as ‘acquiescence’ to the move. Don’t sign anything, don’t agree to school enrollment, and put your objection in writing.

One more piece: keep a contemporaneous journal of every attempt to contact your child. Dates, times, what you tried, what happened. Courts give weight to a parent who actively tried to maintain the relationship.
