Completion Requirement S.J.D. candidates may be required to audit one or more relevant courses (in the law school or another department in the University) and attend the S.J.D. colloquium. Candidates are required to be in residence for at least the first year of the program. Residence during the second year is recommended, but not required. Candidates complete the program with the preparation and oral defense of a dissertation.
Language Requirement Submit an English-language writing sample of at least 50 pages on a legal topic.
