The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University is Australia’s leading criminology School and ranks among the top Criminology Schools in the world. With over 45 Academic staff in the School, as well as affiliated researchers in the Griffith Criminology Institute and over 60 PhD students, Griffith University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is the largest community of academic criminologists in Australia. High quality research that is theoretically informed and policy relevant is a core theme in the School, as is innovative and engaged teaching.

The School seeks two Associate Professors to contribute to its rapidly growing research and teaching programs, including undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and research student supervision. Appointments at Level D will also provide leadership in teaching and research and assist in mentoring early career researchers and research students.

We welcome applications from all areas of Criminology and Criminal Justice but especially encourage applications from scholars with an outstanding track record in policing, violence, crime prevention, and law and justice. Applicants are likely to have a minimum of 10 years post-PhD experience with established track records in innovative program or curriculum development (including online delivery), as well as international reputations in their areas of research.

Although staff can be required to work across multiple campuses, applicants are asked to please specify in their application which campus they prefer to be based.

These are continuing, full time positions primarily based at the Gold Coast or Mt Gravatt campuses, however the successful applicant may also be required to work on other campuses of the University.
